Welcome to “The O.C.” Home of 40 miles of world-class beaches, attractions such as Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, and political affluence known nationwide.
It’s the land of surf and rooftops. From the high-end Ferrari lifestyle of Newport Beach to the laid-back beach enclaves of Huntington Beach and San Clemente, to the banking centers of Irvine, to the working-class cities of Santa Ana and Westminster, Orange County is as diverse as it is perpetually sunny.
It also is among the most politically conservative areas in California.
There is no defined urban or economic center. The county is made up mostly of suburban communities surrounding the cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, Orange, Huntington Beach and Fullerton. The city also includes edge-city-style developments such as Irvine Business Center, South Coast Metro and Newport Center.
For sports fans, it’s also home to Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks.
