- About Riverside Airport
The Airport region consists of a combination of residential, commercial and industrial areas. Homes range from modest single-family residences to ranch and tract homes. Residents here have organized into smaller associations of Neighborhood Watch Groups that provide the necessary vigilance to keep this quaint area safe and livable.
The heart of the Airport neighborhood is Riverside Municipal Airport, which serves private flyers but has not matured into a general-use public airport.
Only the eastern corner of this neighborhood is actually devoted to residential blocks, with most being in a traditional grid design. In some cases, the undulating topography and modern development have resulted in some uniquely shaped blocks.

About Riverside Airport, California:As the name implies, the Riverside Airport area encompasses Riverside Municipal Airport. The City of Riverside purchased the airport in 1953. Although initial expectations were that this would become a large airport, it has remained primarily a haven for private flyers. Most of the land is part of the original 53 square miles of the city. Small western portions were annexed between 1955 and 1961. The area today characterizes a modern subdivision, with uniquely shaped residential blocks. The Airport area also plays host to a large concentration of industry, much of which is aircraft-oriented. This portion of the neighborhood lies within a Redevelopment Project Area. The Santa Ana River forms the northern border of this neighborhood and much of the area is favored by panoramic views over the river to the San Gabriel Mountains to the north.
Riverside Airport includes the friendly communities of Riverside Airport. Remember, Riverside Airport is sometimes spelled as Air Port. If you are looking to buy or sell a home in any of these fine communities, call Brian Bean and Tim Hardin, Homeowner Advocates, Dream Big Real Estate.
